Portraits
Portraits are quite easy to draw if you know the formula to put them together. For this demonstration I'll be using my piece.
The first step is to identify the face shape. I like to draw two circles and then mark the major facial features.
Notice how the distance between the center of the eyes from the center of the face is equidistant. The combined space is also usually the width of the nose. The nose is positioned somewhere between the mouth and the eyes, and the mouth is positioned somewhere in the middle of the lower circle.
Erase the guidelines, leaving only markings for the major features (eyes, nose, mouth). Connect the two circles in a jaw.
erase the guidelines and block in the face. You now have your basic shapes in! The most important part is done, you now add texture and your peice will look like this:
